New Revenue Secretary Takes Charge

Arvind Shrivastava took charge as the Secretary of the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, on May 1, 2025.

On 18th April 2025, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet appointed Arvind Shrivastava as the Secretary of the Department of Revenue.

Before his appointment to this position, Shri Shrivastava, a 1994-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Officer of the Karnataka cadre, served as Joint Secretary and, afterwards, Additional Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

Even before that, he has also served as Joint Secretary in the Budget Division of the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance; Development Officer in the Asian Development Bank; Secretary, Finance Dept., Bengaluru; Secretary, Urban Development Department, Bengaluru; Managing Director in the Urban Infrastructure Development & Finance Corporation, Karnataka.

Before his promotion, he was serving as an Additional Secretary in the PMO and was entrusted with overseeing personnel and general administration since March 25, 2021, confirmed the officials. Even prior to that, he held the position of Joint Secretary in the PMO from September 04, 2019.

Before joining the central government, he held numerous key positions in Karnataka, including Development Officer at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Secretary in the Finance Department, Secretary in the Department of Urban Development, and Managing Department of the Urban Infrastructure Development & Finance Corporation.
