The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has extended the deadline for filing e-forms DIR-3 KYC and DIR-3 KYC-WEB without paying filing fees until October 15, 2025. This move follows several suggestions from stakeholders seeking an extension beyond the earlier deadline of September 30, 2025.

As per the MCA’s General Circular No. 04/2025 dated September 29, 2025, the matter was closely reviewed within the Ministry, and it was finally decided to provide an additional 15-day period for directors to complete their mandatory Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance.

The DIR-3 KYC and DIR-3 KYC-WEB filings are essential compliance requirements for directors, as these filings help maintain updated/latest information of the directors in the MCA21 registry and ensure transparency in corporate governance.

Non-compliance with this crucial filing generally attracts a late fee of ₹5,000 and may result in the deactivation of the Director Identification Number (DIN) until the filing is completed.

The aim behind this extension is to offer relief to directors who may not have filed their DIR KYC within the due date or have faced difficulties in meeting the September 30 deadline, particularly due to technical challenges or a last-minute compliance rush.

The circular, issued with the approval of the Competent Authority, was officially signed by Chiradeep Balooni, Deputy Director, CL-I Section, and directed to the Director General of Corporate Affairs, all Regional Directors, Registrar of Companies, and other Stakeholders.

The MCA has also directed the E-Governance Section to upload the circular on its official website for wider dissemination.
