The Director identification number is an unique number allotted by ministry of corporate affairs to all directors and designated partners of a company /LLP. The companies act 2013 makes it mandatory for a person to obtain director identification number prior to his becoming a director in a company. What is Director Identification Number
Step by step Process to obtain director identification number is as under
- An application for allotment of DIN has to be made in eForm DIN-1 which need to be signed digitally by the applicant
- The applicant has to upload photograph and scanned copy of supporting documents i.e. proof of identity, and proof of address, all the document need to be attested as per rules.
- Along with the supporting documents, verification by the applicant for applying for allotment of The Director identification number (DIN) shall also be attached. This shall contain the Name, Father’s name, date of birth and text of declaration and physical signature of the applicant.
- There is government fee of Rs. 500 to be paid at the time of efiling of the application for director identification number.
If there is any change in the particulars submitted in form DIN-1, applicant can submit e-form DIN-4 online. For instance in the event of change of address of a director, he/ she is required to intimate this change by submitting e-form DIN-4 along with the required attested documents.
