Ans: Yes, the License fee is charged on annual basis. An applicant may make an application for a period ranging from 1-5 years. The fee for State License is 2,000/- p.a. whereas the fee for an application for central License is 7,500/-p.a.

Ans: The License is valid for the period it is issued unless it is cancelled by the FSSAI. An application for renewal must be made before the expiry of the License. It can be renewed for a maximum period of five years.

Ans: Can an FBO carry on different activity at the same premises under one License? The license is location specific. So, a single premise with multiple businesses interrelated to each other is eligible for one License/registration only. So in the same premises, if activities are carried on for processing of meat, milk & fruits & vegetables, there will be a separate license as these will be done in separate portions & businesses are not connected. However, in case there is fruit & vegetable processing & Godown/Store along with it since these are connected activities, one license is applicable.
